Hello, everyone.

So we’re very excited to have you as a New Relic nonprofit customer, and we want to let you know how to get up and running. If you are a nonprofit and not a customer as yet click here to sign-up to our free program!!

There are three simple steps to get up and running with New Relic.

Step 1

The first is, you’ve got to send us your data. What kind of data while we take in all kinds. We taken data from our APM agents, our browser agents, our infrastructure agents. You can also send us data by installing one of our four hundred plus integrations with AWS, GCP. And many, many more. Or you can send us your data via the metric event, or trace API.

Step 2
Once you’ve got that data in New Relic, What do we want to do? Query! And we want to also visualize and analyze that data.

You can query that data with a couple different methods, you can use our data explorer and use NRQL, which is suspiciously similar to Sql: So you should have no problem there, or if you’re more comfortable with Chrome, Ql: we have that available as well.

So first you’ve got to send us your data. Then you can query that data with one of our query languages,

Step 3

And next up you’d want to visualize that data. You can visualize that with charts. We’ve got widgets for service diagrams. We’ve got it for big numbers. You can color fields based on thresholds. Any way that you want to slice and dice that data you can with a New Relic.

So we recommend you, choose one of your apps or pieces of infrastructure. Either install the agent install an integration, or use the API to send us your own custom instrumentation. Then confirm that you got that data by querying it, checking it out, digging around, and then try to visualize it with one of our many, many chart widgets.

So those are three steps to getting started with getting your data into New Relic today! If you’d like even more info on the top 20 ways we recommend you can send data to New Relic — check out our Nerd Bytes video below!
